Phoenix is a powerful online editing tool that helps you work with images in many ways, from quickly retouching a picture to applying complex effects.
As part of the online Aviary suite, Phoenix is launched through the Aviary website, opening up in a separate window. You can start creating from scratch, or load an existing picture – from your hard drive or a website – to work on it.
Phoenix is no Photoshop, but it’s got some pretty interesting tools that make it quite a powerful editor while maintaining the accessibility and ease of use of an online app. It supports layers, includes basic editing tools (rotation, transformation, flipping) and also a bunch of special effects to spice your photo up. On the downside, you’ll need to apply the effect if you want to know how it’ll look, as there’s no preview. All the tools and options included in Phoenix are clearly laid out and easy to use.
Once your Phoenix creation is ready, you can save it right on the Aviary website – which is when the system asks for an user account. You can create one on the spot by providing a username and email address, or use your existing Facebook or Twitter account to sign up. When you’re done, you’ll be able to save your Phoenix creation, as well as browse other Aviary users’ creations, manage your contacts and follow tutorials.
Aviary Phoenix is a handy photo online editor, perfect for quick image touch-ups and more complex photo effects alike.
